Class visits to the Waterways Ireland Visitors Centre are
FREE of charge.
During a visit to the centre your pupils will learn about the history and use ofIreland's waterways for exploration, transport and recreation.
We explore the story of Dublin's two canals and the race to the Shannon
and hear the legends of monsters living in the locks.
The visit also explores the flora and fauna on the rivers and canals and how Waterways Ireland looks after the natural environment within its care.
Hand's on activities allow pupils to test their skills at driving a barge, navigating a canal lock system
and take part in an interactive quiz testing their knowledge of Ireland's waterways.
Booking is essential for school groups.
